I will try to get through this pain and misery. I have known her and looked up to her from day one. Do not feel ashamed of crying, for I have tried to hold back my teers but it is no use. She is the most honoured and respected in my family, and I feel like I knew her. I have dreamed all my life of meeting her, but I guess that dream will never come true. As a conclusion I just want to say that memories of the mother Queen will not be lost is my heart.

The Royal Family has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My first "paper dolls" were the Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret Rose. I know that my Grandmother drew strength from Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, at the loss of my Grandfather who died within a few months after the death of King George. Our "Queen Mum" set high standards of dignity, family unity and love and captured the hearts of all that she met with a smile that brought light to the darkest situations. She has been a constant source of strength for all of us during many trying times. We too will miss her and extend our deepest sympathy to Queen Elizabeth II and her family. May the One Hundred and One years of happy memories help you through this time of sorrow.

Though a Southern Irishman myself, I hold in great esteem this country, which I have chosen to be my home and also I hold the Monarchy in great esteem and with respect. In particular, for as long as I can remember, I have loved and admired Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. I treasure the memories of the occasions when I have seen her in person at close range on the occasions of birthday celebrations or public Thanksgiving ceremonies, having felt the warmth and dynamic energy projected even during the latter years. My warm thoughts are with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth who so recently was bereaved of her sister, HRH The Princess Margaret and now faces this sadness at the time of the Golden Jubilee. God Bless both and all of the Royal Family. James.

My deepest condolences to the Queen and all of her family on this great loss. No matter the age of a person at death it always seems to be too early in life. I hope comfort is found in memories of her life, humor, vitality and wisdom. My special condolences to the Queen on facing two such losses in so short a time. Now three of the "we four" will be together again for the first time in 50 years. Pray God it is long before all four of them are together. Elizabeth Windsor is a royal queen, but first and foremost she is a human who has lost so much at this time.

Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, was an amazing, strong woman. What diverse times she lived through, rising to each occaision as needed with a public grace and fortitude that endeared her to her people and comends her to the rest of the world as a paragon. She serves as the best example of demeanor, spirit, and fortitude for anyone seaking a roll model for public behavior. She will undoubtedly be missed by her family, her people and by the rest of us. May we all find it in our selves to rise to each event in our lives and deal with circumstances as she did in hers.

As a British citizen living abroad, I was saddened, but hardly shocked, by the death of "the last great Edwardian lady." She seems to have inspired respect and love wherever she went, and she will be greatly missed for her humanity; the courage she showed during the Second World War was exemplary, and in great contrast to certain present leaders who distanced themselves from disasters and reappeared only when the danger is past and photo-ops were abundant. The King and Queen would never have done that.

it was with great sadness that we have learned of the passing away of a fine lady. She always dressed so fine, it was have the fun of anticipating her appearance at a function where you knew she would be. I awaited the pictures or her appearance of the television, and never dissapointed. Everyone in England and around the world has lost someone who could instantly warm your heartm put a smile on your lips and a glimmer in your eyes. Thank you Queen Mum, we love you dearly. Our hearts and thoughts go to your dearly, cherished daughter and her family. Our thoughts are with you.

I was lucky enough to meet the Queen Mother in 1980 when she visited Rye, in Sussex as Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports. I held her clear umberella as she came out of the church. She comiserated with us having to stand in the rain in our guide uniforms. It is a moment I have treaseured, as now though I live in america I am so firmly a loyal Royalist. I will always remember her grace and kindness. I spent most of my life without a grandmother, she was the entire countries grandmother. I remember very clearly the royal visit to Canada in the summer of 1939. Having trailed the King and Queen all over Toronto, without getting close enough for a clear photograph, my last chance came just before the royal train was due to arrive at West Toronto station, en route for Winnipeg. I had climbed he the signal tower for a better viewpoint, and, when the train arrived, sure enough, there was the Queen, standing on the last coach's observation platform. But I never got the photograph. As the train passed, she caught sight of me on the tower, and WAVED !! Of course, I took my hand off the camera, and waved back. So, the only record I have of my one-and-only encounter with my Queen consists of a picture of a long length of railroad track, with a train disappearing into the dusk, and a tiny white dot in the centre of the observation platform. It's hard to believe that people like her appear in random fashion. Just when Britain most needed strong personalities , it was blessed with the likes of Winston Churchill, King George VI.......and [not least] the Queen Mum, herself.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother is my most powerful role model. her compassion for those around her, her strength in adversity, her sheer ability to remain a lady no matter the circumstances, these reasons and many more make me strive daily to be like her. being scots-english by blood, but an american by birth, i remain a monarchist to this day -- my heart will always be in england with the royal family, and most especially with my beloved Queen Mum.

God Save the Queen Mother - the great "War Queen" - we need you more than ever as we fight terrorism around the world. Your American friends - soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines - salute you again as the embodiment of "why we fight - for goodness, justice, and truth".

Nice trubite....but she is improperly referred to as QE the First....since she was not actually Queen Regina, she does not have the "I" after her name....that title belongs to a Queen Elizabeth of many years her prior!
