The Queen Mother was a precious jewel in this nation and she was loved very much. She had that special place in many peoples hearts. She turned everything to gold and never forgot about the public. My two letters from her have a spcial prominence in my room. She was there throughout last century and touched every generation. I'm only 13 but I know how special a place she held in my 91 year old Graet Grandad's heart too. A great loss to us all but we must be thankful that she was there for us.

What a wonderful woman...I have never heard or read anything that wasn't good about the Queen Mother. She was a rare person who was born with a beautiful soul and maintained that beautiful soul and is a beautiful soul in Heaven with God. Very few persons in this life have the ability to radiate a joy and peacefulness and yet have a wonderful, wonderful, sense of humor. She was, I think, foremost a loving wife and mother....God Bless the Queen Mother....amen

It's not too often that you have a person in power that can take a step down and walk with the people. The Queen Mother did just that and thats why she will always have a place in the history books.

As an American, the life and times of the Royal Family has always facinated me. (and I mean beyond the nasty tabloids) To think that the present Queen Elizabeth has blood lines going back further than Henry VIII!!! Incredible. The Queen Mother, however, has always been my favorite. What a classy lady she was. May she and her beloved "Bertie" rest in eternal peace!

on reading all the e-mails, their was none if any sharing the loss of the Canadian, Austrilain, New zealand peoples and the many others whom she was Queen. Also from these e-mails it shows that a Queen is not of a land but of a people, and she transcended political boundry's and was Queen to ever imbraced her and not by deffinition of the law of any land or the passport held by them. She was a leader of men, she inspired pride, love, loyalty, humility and just people in genral. I hate the class structure of the establishment, but find the monarchy flowing through my blood. She reprosented the new monarchy the strenght of monarchy at its best. however i belive that many people of lesser status are her equal if planted on the stage she trood. But fate molded this women to the benifit of the people whom she was one, she stood like a giant , done the world proud !

To All who view this wonderful site, Her Majesty the Queen Mother had only visited New Zealand three times, once as HRH the Duchess of York 1927 and twice and HM the Queen Mother 1958,1967. Even though these were very short times it was still a previlegde to have such a valued person enter these dominions. Thank goodness for the wonder of television we were able to celebrate Her Majestys' 100th birthday. Her Majesty with her vivacious spirit for people and her zest for life will be missed. I had the honour of meeting Her Majesty on a number of occasions and this will be a treasured memory. May Angels greet her and family meet her. (I would like to correct in the pictorial tribute that HRH is not the correct title for a Queen.) Merry Christmas + Wakarua, Te Arikinui. 20 December 2002

I loved the Queen Mother. I never knew my mother, as she threw herself of Waterloo Bridge when I was a nipper. My father was lost at sea when I was 10 years old. In my dingy room at the Barnado's Home when I felt low, I would look at my extensive collection of QM memorabilia and stare into her wise old face. She seemed to talk to me: "Everything will be alright, Andrew. I am with you always.". I was devastated when she died and burned all my possessions. Now, I just live everyday as it comes.

My condolences to the family. I have always followed the English royalty for two reasons. One my Aunt Grace was British. And two I'm a descendent of the monarchy.......real distant, but still so. My heart goes out to you. You have lost a very wonderful, energetic, loving person. God Bless You all.

My Irish-English heritage has always drawn me to the glorious British Isles. In 1999, I was very fortunate to make a trip to England, Scotland and Wales, and even caught a glimpse of Her current Majesty, Elizabeth II. My heart is sad at the passing of the much loved "Queen Mum" but I do admire her great spirit and the elegance of her life throughout the pressures and rigors of the 20th Century. Indeed God save the Queen the entire world held/holds in its heart.

She had a long and eventful life that seen many changes during the past century. May the Queen Mother have eternal peace and rest in her new home with our most precious Saviour. God Bless the Queen and her family as they celebrate this first Mother's Day without their Beloved "Queen Mum". "God Save The Queen"

A short poem. "The Rite of a very Royal Funeral" "Body Sovereign in Majestic rest, whose grand century now finally passed, Unaware of surrounding splendour, Of great homage paid to your gracious deeds - Tributes abound! Already enschrined in Common History: Your Royal Life immemorialised. 'Slow March!' cries out the Captain of the Guard. At that the horse walk's pace is set. Six bearers gently lay you down, Heads uncovered, bent in dutiful respect, All eyes look fixedly straight ahead. In fittingly sombre mood The silent obedient party begins to depart - Slowed feet carefully moving with perfect rythmn Down, step by step, down the funeral route. Westminster beckons: "The State is ready, It awaits you, Ma'am!" A watchful saddened Nation Looks mournfully on.

My condolences to the royal family and to the people of England on the passing of this much beloved woman. When I was a little girl I heard this story about the Queen Mother: She was giving a dinner party for dignitaries from many countries. One of the ambassadors who was sitting close to the head of the table, used his fingers to eat his meal. According to the story, the Queen Mother did the same so as to not to embarrass her guest. I was very little when I heard this story, so I may have confused some of the details. The point, though, remains the same no matter what the details, it was a most generous and gracious act. One that I remembered 50 years after I heard it. So, even though I'm not English, this lovely lady touched my life. The world is a better place because she was here.

The Queen Mother was a Mom to all of us, in Canada and around the world. Whenever I saw pictures of her, either in photos or on TV, she always had a truly wonderful smile. She was truly gracious and very worthy of being Royalty. I have been collecting memoirs of the Royal family since the marriage of Prince Charles & Diana, the birth of their children & I was so very saddened when I heard the news of Diana's terrible death in Paris. Without being or sounding sarcastic, I think perhaps the Queen should be more like her mom. The Queen sounds rather stuffy & looks rather somber when talking to the public. The world would be a far greater place if every mother was as gracious & loving as the Queen Mom. We will all miss her so very much. May her soul rest in peace.

I am a Canadian citizen. I have lived in California since 1966. We don't receive very much British news, but my sister in Toronto always saves me all the clippings. She has a bundle to send me. I always felt that the Queen Mum was a great example to the rest of us. My mother would be 92 if she was still living, but she has been gone 24 yrs. When I was in High School she went to North Bay, Ontario,Canada to see Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. I have a framed picture in my home taken at that time. I send condolences to Queen Elizabeth and her family

She was the nation's heroine when the world was in a time of dark forebodings and war. Her quote about looking the East End in the face inspired millions of people in those days. I am only 19 but it inspires me also especially after the terrible events of Sept 11th when I thought we may once be at war again. She was a beloved queen, a favourite mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had had hard times especially with the death of her husband, Bertie, but she would always remember him and live life to the full. Thank you God for putting an extremely special woman on the earth.

As a long-time fan of the Queen Mum, and being of Scottish heritage, I was especially honored to be in Scotland for Easter services which honored her, and in London on Friday April 5th to stand with the multitude of people watching the cortege go by. It was a most memorable experience. May she rest in peace.

I have much admiration for the Queen Mother. I think the source of that resect comes from the remarkable life that she led and the many world events that she witnessed. I miss her and I don't even know her. My thoughts go to the entire family, but it would seem that Prince Charles not only lost a grandmother, but a grandfriend.

My memory of the Queen Mother was when she visited Adelaide in 1958 I think it was and I was quite young. We saw her leaving govenment house to go to a function and she was dressed in her "princess dress and tiara" she was the most beautiful person I had ever seen. This is a very treasured memory. She was truly loved by all.To all the Royal family please accept the condolences from my family.

My Daddy always told me that the best was to teach is "by example" - that lessons learned this way were joyful; and that is what he and my Mom did. The Queen Mum will always be a joyful example for me. And I loved her. My thoughts and wishes are with her family, especially her daughter, her Royal Highness Elizabeth, the Queen, and her grandson, Prince Charles (they were fortunate to have her in their lives and will only bear her loss through visiting the wonderful memories shared with a grand lady). With sympathy, Janet Levy

I was sorry to hear of the Queen Mothers passing. My parents were from England, and lived there during the war, and told me good stories of the Queen and King and their loyality to their country. Because they stayed in England, and saw to it that their children also stayed, they too kept my brother with them (I was born in the U.S.A. in 1957) instead of sending him to friends in Canada. She seemed like a wonderful person. May she rest in peace.

I want to tell you how sincerely sorry I am. Americans aren't very popular right now.
[Yes you are!] We are viewed as shallow people. [Not true!] But that is not true for most. We remember, and we are loyal friends. My father was 17 when he enterted W W 2, the majority of his time in service was out of England. He was treated with courtesy, respect, and regard. I have watched on T.V,and also read about Her Majesty's life. I know that she was very instrumental in the morale of the English peoples, and thru them the rest of the world. She didn't give them courage,,,they already had that. She showed them how to do it with class. I could honestly go on and on about Her, I will finish with my most sincere codolences. And, my most profound respect and gratitude as an American to a woman that helped our whole world thru horrible times. She was loved by more people then she might have known.                                          [Thank you for your kind comments.]
